My Many Moves

Several of you have asked why all the moves, so I figured I'd quickly explain our crazy year. :)

Move 1 (Late August '08)
We knew we would be moving from Ohio in December, and given the slow market we decided to put our condo up for sale early. Well, it sold in two weeks. So we had to move all of our stuff into a nearby apartment to live for the remaining three months.

Move 2 (December '08)
Time to move from Ohio to Utah for the first of my husband's Optometry School internships. We loaded our furniture and non-necessities into a storage unit in Columbus and headed cross country. (In spite of having a storage unit full of junk, we still manage to cram both of our cars full of stuff.)

Move 3 (March '09)
We moved from Utah to Boise for Optometry School Internship number two. (Again, with our two jam packed cars.)

Move 4 (This coming Monday)
Back to Utah. My husband has a job lined up, but he does not get his license to practice until late July. So it's to my parent's house we go.

Move 5 (Late July '09)
We will finally, FINALLY move to Grand Junction, Colorado, where my husband's new job will be.

Pretty insane, huh?? I know one day, I'll look back on this year and thank the high heavens that it's over. But for now, I just keep plugging along. :) It's not really that bad. As Sara said in the comments section of the previous post, I've become a total moving pro.

Good luck with all the moving. Colorado will be well worth it I'm sure.

Gosh, I'm sorry I missed you being in Boise. You're year sounds even crazier than mine, but I hope you get settled well in Colorado.

All for good reason, most definitely. And just look at all the dramatic story ideas that have come from this past year, too, that you'll work into your book!

Best wishes, and good luck with Monday's move.

Woa, lots of moving! At least you know you'll be settling at some point in the near future!

If it's any consolation. You WILL be seeing me this round in Utah. You bet you will.

Wow, so will Colorado be the last destination? At least you are getting to the end of all the craziness!

Janey-multi? lol, how perfectly appropriate. :D

Miriam-Yeah, Boise is a pretty nice town. I'll miss Camelback Park and Westside Drive-in. :)

Joanne-Very true. My story did somehow manage to push its way from the middle of all this moving.

Sara-Yes. And if I didn't, I'd probably go insane.

Natalie-It IS consolation! I'm very much looking forward to it. :)

Jill-Yes, with any luck, we will be in Colorado for at least several years. And, after moving every few months, several years sounds like a lifetime.

Snap! that's a lot of moving! Your making me feel guilty for feeling sorry for myself with just one move approaching. Mostly I'm just not looking forward to five days of driving. Bleck! Thanks for giving me some perspective. When things get stressful I'll just think, it could be worse I could be moving four times this summer!

Word verification...mentl...I'm not kidding! Let's hope it's not a prediction of our future state of mind.

I love Grand Junction! What a nice place to land.

Candice-The cross country drive is a killer. The first day, even the second are fine, but it's that last one or two that push you over the edge.

(Like my cheerful words of encouragement?)

Suzette-Thanks! I've only been there once, but it's is quite nice. I'm looking forward to it.
