Querying thought of the Day

I used to think I had a kind of sixth sense. I used to feel like I just "knew" things were going to happen.

Well, I was wrong. :)

It seems like the days I wake up thinking, "I have a good feeling about today," are the days that I have an empty inbox. Or a swift rejection.

So, what we've learned today, is that I am clearly not psychic.

Yeah...its sad when you realize those "gut feelings" can be so wrong. Like the gut feeling I had that I would one day win an Oscar...sigh. But there are also times when it turns out in your favor....

You see Renee, life doesn't always turn out how we planned.
(cheesy grin)
Our job is to make the most of what we have.

It's okay, I'm not a psychic either.

But we can all be psychOs together!

lol-- I have learned that lesson earlyon too!! I woke up today with that feeling like maybe today some great news will come my way--but I have this inkling maybe it is so I don't get too down when the bad comes!
Praying you get some GREAT news soon!

Diana-Thanks. (piano music) You're right. You know . . . I'm gonna keep trying. *plants hands on hips* Even if it kills me! (audience laughter)

Kiersten-No wonder I was confused! I'm psycho, not psychic. Well, that explains a lot of things.

Terri-Thanks :) I think you bring up a good point. You know, in a lot of ways I am glad that my "feelings" are not always right, because sometimes I get bad feelings about things. So, I guess I'm glad that those don't always come true.

Every psychic is wrong sometimes. You don't have to discount your supernatural power over one wrong reading, hehe.

Besides, querying is beyond anyone's power to predict. Seriously, I think you'd have a better chance picking the final four in college basketball.

Just think of all the anticipation you'd be missing if you were a psychic! Seriously, in a certain sense, anticipation can work like a motivator. It's nice to have something to look forward to, to go through the process.

Natalie-I am ashamed to say that it has been much more than one wrong reading. :P
But, you're right, perhaps the veil over the minds of agents is simply too thick to be read.

Joanne-Very good point! I mean, I have to admit that in some ways querying is fun. There is always a tingle of excitement as I send off a new letter. It's kind of like putting a quarter in a slot machine. You know that the odds aren't huge, but there is always that feeling of "what if this time . . .?"
