I figured I needed a little break from editing, and my hope was that writing the synopsis would help me feel better about Tristan. Well, so far so good. It's really not so bad. The only problem I am running into is keeping it short. As of yet, I am just writing it out in as succinct a way possible, but I am not watching the page count. Well, let's just say I have covered 150 pages of story in 2 pages of synopsis. So, at this rate, I could have to trim down an eight page synopsis to a three page one. Insert the super big gulp here.
Oh well, it's all kind of fun, in a masochistic kind of way.

Get it all down first--that's the best way to start. Then you can see where you can cut.
Keep in mind that your synopsis will probably be on the longer side since you have a lot to cover. Just make it sound awesome. I can't wait to see a copy:)
Yeah, I figure I have a little leeway, since my story is so dang long. I dare not go over four pages, but that should be fine . . . right?
I'll work on it again tonight, and post it as soon as I finish.
Probably not over four, but I would say it's fair for you to be in the 3-4 range with how much you have to cover.
Of course if you can get it shorter that's great, but then you don't want to short change anything.
Natalie's better at synopses than I am, so her advice is good.
We'll help you cut it down when you finish--it's easier to tell what's essential when you don't know the story.
