I have reached Querying Nirvana

It's true. After long meditation under the a metaphorical Bodhi tree, I have obtained that state of mind--Nirvana--which is perfect calm.

Okay, maybe that's a touch dramatic, but I have, in point of fact, reached that stage in the whole querying business where the uncontrolled emotions have ceased. I feel very calm about it all. Maybe it's partly due to the fact that I decided to go on a query sending hiatus for the holidays. Or maybe it's because I am too distracted with moving and being around my family again to care. And then, maybe it is because I am absorbed in my new book and have transferred all of my publication hopes onto that.

Whatever the reason, I think it's a good thing. I tend to the melodramatic, and man, those first few weeks of querying nearly wiped me out. I think Nirvana is a much better state of mind in which to approach the whole business.

It's funny that you mention this, I, too, have reached a querying nirvana. I have about six floating out in the world and I don't feel anxious about them at all. Maybe it's because, like you, I have moved on to a new project and feel just as hopeful about this one. I guess it's a good thing to keep plugging along.

Welcome, Renee. It's a nice place to be in comparison. Still not super awesome fun, but doable.

Enjoy that new project:)

Tranquility is a wonderful thing. Enjoy it. Enjoy Christmas, enjoy being with your family, enjoy your new project.

You can always return to querying hell in the New Year.

Hey - the word verification is moziness. Now that's the most tranquil, laid-back made-up word ever isn't it!

With a move like the one you just did, at the holidays, you deserve a little Nirvana. Enjoy.

Kasie-Always moving forward right? Unfortunately, I am sure that once I get this project ready for querying, the anxiety will return, probably worse than before.

Natalie-It's true. I'd rather be in happy-booty shaking-I-have-an-agent land, but you take what you can, i guess.

Janey-Yeah, I made the choice not to query at all over the Holidays, mainly because I don't want them ruined by rejections.

Also, i think moziness is a perfect word. :)

Joanne-I agree! Thanks. :)

I'm glad you are relaxed and focusing on your next big thing! And I will try to remember this once I've finished revisions and decide to start my queries.

Oooooommmmm...Ooooooommmm...Ooooooommm...

That's exactly where I was when I got my call ; ) And you got there faster than me. AND it took almost dying to get me there. So you're way ahead of the curve!

WOW! You go! I don't know how you've done it, but you're amazing! I was a complete spaz! LOL! I was refreshing that darn inbox until I couldn't see straight! You're awesome!

Oh, and if you haven't had a chance to read yet.. I'm interviewing my agent on my blog and I'm tallying questions. Have a question you're dying to ask an agent... sock it to me and I'll ask her! I've been getting a wide range on my blog and through my emails! LOL! It's been great!

Crossing my fingers for you! And I hope you enjoy the holidays!

I'm going to have so much inspiration when I start querying. You guys are going to be my trail blazers. I'm glad to know that querying Nirvana exists, so I can work toward making it there when I start sending out the letters.

**My word verification is autte. Not so nirvanaish, but still interesting. I'm going to start paying attention to the word verification. There are some cool words. Who knows, maybe they'll inspire something. :)

I'm there with you. I don't care as much just going forward with the next project. Enjoy being moved and settle in!

Tag! You're it! (see my last post, zennish one!)

Jill-Well, it takes a while to get there. In fact, I'm all about the boundless hopes and excitement in early querying stage. You can seek nirvana later. (Provided you haven't been snapped up by an agent fast, in which case you don't really need nirvana.)

Kiersten-I think maybe it was the trauma of going through a huge move that has put me here.

Jenni-Well, I'm still spazy, just about other things. :) Also, I hope I haven't missed the agent interview. That sounds awesome!

Candice-Oh, we'll be here when you enter the battle that is querying. It's a mad, mad game but there is some fun to be had. :)

Terri-Yeah, I'm happy to just slowly coast forward.
